This course is designed to meet the requirements of the Dental Board of California for license renewal in providing a structured review of topics as described in the California Dental Practice Act. Key topics and updates will be reviewed as well a resources identified to assist the attendees in having a working knowledge of the Dental Practice Act and recently added ethics requirements.

The mission of the California Labor Commissioner's Office is to ensure a just day's pay in every workplace in the State and to promote economic justice through robust enforcement of labor laws. By combating wage theft, protecting workers from retaliation, and educating the public, we put earned wages into workers' pockets and help level the playing field for law-abiding employers. This office is also known as the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).
Just because you work in a small dental practice does not mean your boss is exempt from California labor laws. Labor laws can be intimidating, but you will come to understand they are common sense laws made to protect employees. This course will help you understand the labor laws that hygienists often complain about, and help you approach your boss with information to back up your labor law concerns.
